Pira G2. Floor-to-ceiling poles and shelves in white / Cabinets in white-pigmented oak

A conversation with Karolina Nyström from Studio Stockholm

Pira G2 by String Furniture was chosen as a central element in the interior of Natur & Kultur’s office. The shelving system’s architectural expression fits well in the building, which was originally designed by Sven Markelius, and reflects the ambition to unite history with contemporary function.

White shelves with wooden cabinet units were used throughout the space, with black-grey versions in select areas. The materials and tones were in harmony with the restrained colour palette used in the renovation, where light wood and soft hues helped create balance and flow.

Pira G2 brought both structure and flexibility to the rooms. The open design acts as a subtle divider, supporting a working style that balances openness and calm. Its refined form enhances the interior without overpowering it and linking the architecture with the practical elements of the space.
